Registered Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)Job Locations US-MN-WayzataJob ID 2019-6541# of Openings 1Type Part-TimeCategory Hygienist Overview We have an immediate opening for a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist for our affiliate practice, Lake Minnetonka Dental located in, Plymouth, MN. This is a Monday 8-5, Tuesday 12-7:30, and Wednesday 12-7:30 position. We offer a friendly, caring work atmosphere, competitive pay and benefits. Experience in dental field appreciated, or we will train the right person fresh out of school. Responsibilities Responsibilities and Duties: -Perform the usual and customary chair side procedures of a dental hygienist such as scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments and application of sealants, making patient comfort top priority-Update patient's health history at each appointment-Take and develop any necessary radio graphs-Chart existing restorations, missing teeth and pocket depths if needed-Assist the Doctor with his or her examination of the patient-Communicate effectively any treatment needs per the Doctor's treatment plan, segmenting the needed appointments and documenting this on the treatment plan-Communicate to the patient what their needs are, what it will take to gain optimum oral health and what will happen if the treatment is not performed-Give oral hygiene instructions to patients, communicating as effectively as possible and using any visual aids necessary-Communicate clearly to patients any pre-op or post-op instructions per doctor's orders-Document completely and accurately on progress notes any treatment performed as well as notation of anything else concerning the patient's visit to the office-Consistently follow all OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions regarding infection control and safety-Maintain a clean and uncluttered appearance in the operatory-Maintain equipment according to manufacturer's guidelines-Assist clinical staff with tasks such as sterilization or hygiene inventory control when needed-Maintain recall system-Maintain hygiene total log control-Participate in morning huddles Qualifications and Skills: Must have experienced inter personal skills, positive attitude, able to listen effectively, adaptable, attentive, consistent sense of urgency, collaboration, communication, confident, conflict management and resolution, cooperative and courteous, critical thinker, customer service, empathetic, flexible, multi-tasker, positive work ethic, team player, receptive to feedback and coaching, excellent manual dexterity as well as the ability to write concisely and legibly, ability to complete tasks within a given time frame, congenial personality, outgoing, but focused and capable of dealing multiple tasks, ability to deal with needs of practice and patients and capacity to maintain a calm demeanor regardless of the situation, ability to function within a team environment as a supportive and positive contributor. Education & Experience: Bachelors degree from an accredited school with a current state license. CPR and first aid training required, as well as knowledge of radiation safety is mandatory. Qualifications Desired Skills:Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene school.
