    SUMMARY:

    The position provides leadership and project management expertise for Global Information Services in support of its mission and goals.  The Director, IT Project Management will develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy and project management framework to ensure a client-centric relationship with stakeholders, measured by accurate project reports.  The incumbent will lead the IT project management efforts including IT demand management, project prioritization, IT resource planning and deployment, and the analysis of IT investment options to maximize business outcome.  He/she leads the project management process to assure controlled, consistent and disciplined execution of IT projects across business and IT areas.  He/she will provide overall coordination, status reporting, implementation of project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. The Director will work collaboratively with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to create an environment that is highly responsive and service oriented.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensures IT projects effectively deliver on the enterprise strategic goal by creating, implementing and driving efficient and effective project management processes in support of business objectives.
    • Communicates among key stakeholders and organizational leadership to build the mission and vision for IT project management to foster a project-management-oriented culture and mindset.
    • Develops and implements a standard feedback and project management process to drive project management improvements and ensure efficiencies on the execution of enterprise strategies.
    • Oversight of all aspects of projects which includes management and tracking the direction of the project, resulting in the successful delivery of related materials, milestones and deliverables.
    • Ensures identification, logging and resolution of project challenges and conflicts, assessing their impact and elevating to key stakeholders and leadership to guarantee project deliverables are met.
    • Provides regular project status reports to sponsors, leaders and other key stakeholders including core team members, resource team members, key cross functional leadership, etc.
    • Continuously identifies project risk through assessment and risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure team members are driving towards mitigation of risks.
    • Builds and tracks effective metrics to ensure project effectiveness, making appropriate recommendations based on results. Measures ROI as it relates to corporate strategic goals, financial governance, and support of the portfolio project selection process
    • Develops and manages resource forecasting and an enterprise resource capacity plan for IT. Implements prioritization and scoring models for better assessment of the resource requests
    • Drives IT project managers to accomplish project objectives. Conducts regular project review to validate planning, issues and risks, schedule, and communication.
    • Builds and maintains positive cross functional relationships with division and department leadership teams.
    • Develops and manages demand management process to be utilized for IT to manage demand. Implements refined prioritization and scoring models for better assessment of requests.
    • Proactively identifies process improvement opportunities and drives continuous process improvement utilizing post-project reviews with all participants/stakeholders and ensures a “Lessons Learned” document is prepared for the record, or review, and then leveraging those Lessons to enhance and improve future readiness in every project moving forward.
    • Provide timely, relevant, and objective data to be used to monitor the health of the project portfolio, to measure the performance of the portfolio, and ensure that delivery of strategic objectives is achieved on time and on budget.
    • Serves as an escalation point for complex issues, problems and solutions. Effectively leverages relationships across the organization to remove obstacles, facilitate quick decisions and resolve conflicts for IT projects.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
    • PMP/PMI certified

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Ten (10) years of experience in managing large scale and complex projects with a proven track record of delivering impact.
    • Four (4) years of people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to direct/coach teams, provide feedback and partner with HR on all aspects of employee relations.
    • Experience in project governance, monitoring, compliance, process development, implementation and project management.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree preferred
    • People oriented, who excels at mentoring and coaching direct reports and stakeholders
    • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration.
    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision, and inspire and motivate project management staff.
    • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skill.
    • Experience transforming waterfall based organization to agile methods.
    • Ability to think strategically, to align underlying project work to the strategic objectives they support, and to clearly see cross-functional project impacts to overall strategy.
    • Ability to make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceive the impact and implications of decisions; commit to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; cause change.

    Business Relationship Managers (2), Project Managers (4), Resource Manager (1)
