    Summary

    The Director EHS Due Dilligence & Integration leads the EHS component of enterprise acquisitions, licensing agreements and divestitures. S/he directs and is accountable for the EHS integration of new acquisitions, transferring, implementing and embedding J&J EHS requirements into these new companies on a strict timeline to address and manage risks / liabilities and contribute to the success of the new business. S/he will develop and implement strategies that align with the company’s overall strategic objectives and ensure that these strategies are communicated effectively to stakeholders and senior management. S/he is also accountable for all EHS processes that relate to final divestiture of facilities to ensure compliant closure and to ensure there is no risk of future liabilities related to property. The Director Due Dilligence & Integration is an integral part of all due diligence business teams and as such, will regularly interact with commercial and supply chain leaders, Business Development Leaders, Real Estate, Finance and legal senior management. The role requires a broad and exhaustive understanding of all EHS risk management aspects that could potentially derail an acquisition or divestiture and the confidence to represent issues to senior leadership in JNJ . Externally, s/he will engage with EHS assessment providers and regulators.

    Responsibilities

    • In collaboration with Business Development leads/ coordinates EHS due diligence assessments of new businesses and potential real estate acquisitions or divestitures.
    • Prepares /submits business case (financial estimates) to justify resources needed to close EHS risks and compliance gaps that may exist upon acquisition.
    • Supports J&J Real Estate on property transactions , lease negotiations , extensions and terminations from an EH&S risk management perspective.
    • Partners with various EHS leaders and local site management to coordinate and monitor successful EHS integration planning and execution activities, prepare action plans, timelines and budgets to bring new acquisitions into conformance with JNJ Standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Mentors, coaches, provides training and technical assistance to newly acquired companies regarding compliance with JNJ and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Required Minimum Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Sciences or a related field.
    • Required Years of Related Experience: 5 years experience in safety due diligence, acquisitions and divestitures preferably within a large corporation.
    • Excellent leadership, project management and analytical skills. Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. A deep understanding of EHS regulations and procedures and knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to acquisitions and divestitures.
    • National EHS qualifications / certifications desirable. A good working knowledge and understanding of common computer packages.
    • May require up to 30% travel, both domestic and international

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

    $146,000-$251,850 USD

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
