    This position is responsible for the quantitative analysis of all medical record patient types based upon standards established by Title 22, the Joint Commission and the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrates knowledge of medical records and medical record documents. 
    • Demonstrates knowledge of deficiency analysis of medical records. 
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of computer keyboard and a typing speed of 35 wpm. Familiarity with computers and basic windows and mouse skills is preferred. 
    • Able to understand and follow directions. 
    • Remain focused on the task at hand without getting easily distracted. 
    • Capable of categorizing forms/documents within the medical record. 
    • Must be detail oriented. 
    • High level of professionalism is needed for interaction with physicians and physician office staff.
    • Self-motivated.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED:

     

    • Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field

    • Knowledge of ICD10

    • Proficient in Excel and Word

    • Valid California driver’s license and car insurance

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Strong knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hybrid medical records
    • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate
    • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Legal and Ethical Management of protected health information
    • Previous medical record department or medical office experience, especially in the area of discharge analysis or record completion.
