    The Co-Op position in Biotherapeutics Drug Product Development will be responsible for formulation and process development of therapeutic proteins or other biologics including monoclonal antibodies, bi-specifics, fusion proteins, virus like substances, RNA therapeutics, gene therapy, mixed conjugates and autologous/allogeneic cell therapy products.  This includes development and optimization of technical operations associated with formulation, fill/finish process, storage, compatibility assessment and stability campaigns. The Co-Op position will focus on, but not limited to, allogeneic cell therapy and combination product development.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and execute formulation and process development studies for antibody-based products, cell therapy products and novel drug combinations.
    • Conduct biophysical and cell biological studies to select formulation candidates, define critical process parameters, and assess stability/ compatibility of novel drug products/ combinations.
    • Apply engineering concepts to advance cell therapy process and product development (focus on formulation, cryopreservation and fill/finish process).
    • Design and execute studies to understand how the drug product interacts with the product contact material surfaces during fill/finish manufacturing and during dosage preparation.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams at project-related meetings and successfully resolve problems with supplies, methods, project issues, and deviations.
    • Perform data analysis and interpretation, including data trending. Author technical protocols and reports. Present data to peers, functional line management and collaborators from diverse functions.
  • Qualifications
    • Working toward a B.S. or M.S. degree in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering or a related field.
    • Ability to design and conduct appropriate experiments and interpret and present complex data to support development of biologics and cell therapy products.
    • Experience in designing and conducting cell biological assays and biophysical assays is strongly preferred.
    • Basic understanding of biologics/cell therapy discovery, development manufacturing and commercialization is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of biologics/cell therapy drug product development including formulation, fill/finish process, cryopreservation, storage, handling and administration is preferred.
