    TRI POINTE HOMES IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED, DETAIL ORIENTATED, PROBLEM SOLVING INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN OUR TALENTED GROUP AS A FINANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER IN OUR HOME OFFICE.

     

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: This position is a Home Office role, reporting to the Corporate Controller, Homebuilding Operations. Among other things, the candidate will be a key member of the team responsible for leading business process improvements for companywide accounting and finance initiatives, and help with documenting, and implementing and monitoring compliance with the Company’s accounting policies and procedures. The candidate will act as the liaison between the Home Office accounting shared services team, divisional finance and operations teams, and other Home Office departments including IT, Sales and Marketing, National Operations and Legal.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Have the responsibility and authority to design, document, implement, and enforce the operating procedures and policies of the Company
    • Must fully understand all aspects of the computerized accounting system, as well as operational applications, including Hyphen, Salesforce and Envision, are work with other functional Home Office and Divisional team to ensure these systems are utilized to their full capabilities
    • Assist in various efforts to improve the efficiency surrounding the data collection and reporting by developing automated processes and applications
    • Interaction with Home Office leadership to assist in various efforts to drive efficiency and consistency for other operational areas, including sales and marketing, design studio options, purchasing and construction
    • Support divisions in the business plan preparation as needed
    • Perform special projects as needed
    • May be responsible for directly or indirectly supervising other Home Office team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university
    • A minimum of six years related experience
    • Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking ability
    • Proficient Excel skills
    • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Hyperion or OneStream is a plus
    • Knowledge of homebuilding accounting is a plus
    • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
    • Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
