    As the Maintenance Reliability Engineer with Liberty Paper Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the Mill by maximizing site equipment reliability with a focus on equipment availability, equipment downtime reduction, and maintenance cost reductions. This position provides technical support for all disciplines in maintenance and operations with emphasis on improving equipment reliability, ensuring quality repairs are being performed, reducing maintenance costs, and providing technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process problems. The incumbent will routinely utilize predictive technologies (e.g., Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasonic) failure analysis and process improvement techniques, Microsoft Projects, and the CMMS System. Other assignments as required to support continuous maintenance and process improvements.

    This full-time position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is located at Liberty Paper’s paper mill in Becker, Minnesota.

    Required Skills

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

    1. Provide technical support and recommendations to improve overall equipment reliability utilizing predictive technologies and other predictive/preventative techniques.
    2. Provide monthly detailed CM (Condition Monitoring) reports with appropriate technical information, such as spectrum data of equipment that is included in the CM program.
    3. Optimize current predictive and preventive operations and maintenance tasks and activities, identifying gaps and developing corrective action plans, driving implementation, and evaluating improvement performance.
    4. Monitor and evaluate “Top Ten” equipment failures making recommendations to improve their Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
    5. Provide technical resource for RCFA process, leading role in accountability for RCFA action items.
    6. Complete mechanical and electrical failure analysis of equipment components, as required, use outside resources as necessary (metallurgical, OEM, etc.)
    7. Support the Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Manager with obtaining, managing, and analyzing equipment performance data.
    8. Provide mechanical knowledge to support maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, reduced costs, and minimize unplanned downtime.
    9. Provide engineering support for maintenance work order tasks deemed appropriate by Maintenance and Engineering Managers.
    10. Improve maintenance work efficiency by implementing precision maintenance techniques.
    11. Assist Maintenance Team Leader by ensuring quality services and repairs are being provided.
    12. Evaluate current equipment spare parts inventory to ensure spare parts are available for critical equipment.
    13. Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.
    14. Assist the maintenance staff with developing the annual maintenance budget, developing the major turnaround budget (TAR, ever 3 years), planning, scheduling and execution.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing)
    • 3-5 Years of Previous Related experience in a Reliability Engineering role
    • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Ability to lead and motivate others, to negotiate with, and persuade others, and work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.
    • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, business skills, as you may be responsible for managing budgets, leading a team, and liaising with suppliers, and capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
    • Strong computer literacy (MS Office) with emphasis in spreadsheet software.
    • Occasional travel required (5%)
