Job Description
Under general supervision, coordinates, implements, and facilitates health and nutrition services for Head Start, Early Head Start and other State-funded programs (CCTR, CSPP). Provides comprehensive services to strengthen and support family and staff health. Provides community resources. Integrates all program service areas into family and community development. Coordinates staff development activities.
- Plans, develops and ensures implementation of health and nutrition services. Plans and implements high quality and developmentally appropriate experiences for enrolled families in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, policies and procedures and Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) standards of conduct.
- Maintains required health and nutrition documentation in a tracking system compliant to the Head Start Performance Standards and the USDA Child Care Food Program. Prepares tracking and billing documentation for USDA Food Program.
- Coordinates training and support for pregnant woman, prenatal and parent education, breast-feeding information and other health and nutrition resources. Identifies and incorporates resources into the program. Supports the active involvement of parents and community members on the Health Services Advisory Committee.
- Coordinates the provision of Family Plan activities with other organizations, agencies or individuals involved in providing services to the family. Represents ESSC and provide presentations at assigned community groups and forums.
- Meets regularly with Coordinators, Site Director, parents, partners and other programs for effective planning and implementation of health and nutrition activities. Collaborates with Coordinators and Site Director to plan and implement annual training program for area of responsibility.
