    Job Description

    Pays $21.00/hour

    WorkFirst provides one-on-one, customized employment support services. We identify each person’s talents, interests, goals and abilities in order to support him or her to find a job that can be fulfilling long-term.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Completing the discovery process (on-going process determining personal attributes, interests, skills talents and preferences that leads to a solid profile in order to develop a personalized plan) with people we support to determine opportunities for employment.
    • Following up on leads with potential employers and developing actual jobs
    • Developing employment opportunities for people we support through regular employer contacts, public relations and community interaction
    • Conferring with employers to communicate objectives and solicit cooperation
    • Assisting with completion and maintenance of files and necessary documentation for people we support.

     

    We are looking for an individual with an appetite for life and a strong desire to learn. To be successful in this role, individual will be tenacious, creative and charismatic. They will seek and find synergy within others and only expect the best in any given situation. This individual realizes that we are all peers and celebrates diversity.     • Solid and diverse social network in the Los Angeles area
    • Ability to quickly and easily relate to others
    • Ability to travel locally
    • Schedule is flexible, but driven by the people we serve
    • Bi-lingual a plus

     

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1. One year experience in job development with individuals with special needs or vocational rehabilitation                            
    2. Must be able to multi-task and accept challenges
    3. Knowledge of modern office practices, standards, and business etiquette, including telephone protocol
    4. Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written skills with all levels of staff and the public
    5. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
    6. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance and pass post-offer physical examination
    7. Ability to travel throughout the region with reliable transportation with proof of valid CDL, proper auto insurance, and vehicle registration
