Assist the Management Team with the on-going development and maintenance of a comprehensive Quality Assurance/Improvement program in all areas of the Pharmacy Department. Responsible for gathering and compiling relevant information to document monthly QA/QI reports. Assures compliance with Joint Commission standards, and state and federal regulations. Serves as Pharmacy Technician as needed.
Required Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Texas State Board of Pharmacy and DEA rules and regulations regarding controlled substances. Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and various requirements of the position.
- Familiar with the Hospital’s controlled substance distribution policies.
- Demonstrates a complete understanding of all USP 797 guidelines, QA testing and record keeping procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to covey information effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacy terminology, calculations, dispensing, compounding, law, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with other management team members.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and advanced knowledge to use Cerner and or other pharmacy computer applications.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- Highly Customer Service Oriented individual.
Required Experience
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Three years experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Active Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and Nationally Pharmacy Technician Certified (CPHT) Nationally IV Certified
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate of Applied Science/Pharmacy Technology preferred.
