    As the HR GENERALIST with SAFCO PRODUCTS, you will support all things HR ranging from fielding employee questions, processing employee paperwork, data entry in the HRIS, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of exempt and non-exempt new hires, offboarding processes, benefits and compensation, leave of absence administration, employee engagement, employment law and providing variety of HR administrative responsibilities including HR-related special projects.

    This full-time position reports directly to the DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES and is located at Safco’s headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

    Required Skills

    IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

     

    • Build trust-based, collaborative, sustainable relationships with managers and employees. Help answer and find solutions to questions regarding all things HR (pay, benefits, reports, etc.).
    • Partner with HR Director and business leaders to identify, assess and administer human resource needs (policies, programs, tools and resources) and identify opportunities for driving employee engagement and improving organizational performance.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to business leaders by identifying business issues and providing support and recommendations on resolving employee relations issues in order to foster positive team member relations.
    • Help coordinate the recruitment process including posting positions, screening resumes, phone-screening, scheduling and coordinating onsite interviews, have an active voice in the candidate selection process of exempt and non-exempt positions.
    • Manage the offer and pre-employment process for all positions.
    • Manage and administer all leave of absence requests and appropriate paperwork.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with employment agencies, universities and other recruitment sources.
    • Key driver and administrator of the employee life cycle initiatives from onboarding (including new hire orientation) to offboarding.
    • Systems guru - managing all data entry, updates and changes to the HRIS and ensuring data integrity.
    • Coordinate activities associated with the performance management process (e.g. goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, development planning) to ensure utilization of tools by management to achieve business results.
    • Partner with HR Director to drive employee engagement across the organization and help coordinate and facilitate the bi-annual Employee Engagement Survey process.
    • Provide communication, advice, assistance and follow-up to employees and leaders on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
    • Generate various HR Analytics reports as requested.
    • Help coordinate various employee events and participate in various cross-functional teams (Fun Committee, Safety Committee, Community Involvement, Engagement Action Planning Committee, etc.)
    • Assist with special LDI HR Community projects as an individual contributor or part of a cross-functional HR team.
    • Other duties and projects as requested as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources
    • 3+ years of HR administrative experience
    • Experience working in manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
    • Some travel may be required (less than 25% of the time)
