As the METAL FABRICATOR with SAFCO, you will utilize high-quality standards and solid machining techniques to ensure proper metal fabrication of our parts for the final product. Working with other production cells, you will ensure product meets internal and external quality standards.

This 1st shift, full-time position reports directly to the PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR and is located at Safco’s manufacturing plant in MILFORD, IOWA. The hours for this position are 6:00 AM - 2:20PM, Monday to Friday with the availability to work overtime as needed. 

Safco offers a competitive benefits package to include:

• Starting Pay ranging from $18.00 - $20.00
• Benefits on the 1st of month following 30 days of employment

Required Skills

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Set up and operate metal fabrication equipment (eg: brake presses, fiber laser, coil presses, panel bender). 
• Use overhead hoist and any other required material handling equipment to maneuver dies and materials
• Use inspection / measurement equipment and review prints to ensure work is meeting or exceeding quality standards
• Enter Work Order data required for labor reporting into the computer system
• Work in a manner that emphasizes safety of self and others. Follows all safety policies and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in Metal Fabrication
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to read prints and use inspection equipment/measuring devices
• Ability to stand, bend, twist and lift for 8+ hours per day
