    Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist -Full Time Day Shift Tracking Code 1055-058 Job Description Purpose of Your Position This is a salaried, exempt CRTS staff position to provide initial and annual assessments, therapeutic recreational activities to assigned residents. Complete all necessary documentation to (assessments, quarterly progress notes, MDS etc.) attend and report at all care plan meetings. Provide clinical supervision to TRS students. Consult with other disciplines and family as necessary. Position Functions and Responsibilities: For Staff Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist To provide assessments and therapeutic recreational group and individual activities to residents with a variety of medical diagnosis. Conduct initial and annual assessments of residents upon physician request. Maintain and record quarterly progress notes and annual assessments for children receiving TR services. Coordinate TR activities with other interdisciplinary staff to provide continuity and consistency of care. Assist in decorating of facility for holidays and events. Assist in the selection, planning and implementation of special events. Maintain and keep an organized supply of materials in a safe manner. Participate in and attend the in-service education to enhance clinical and professional competence. Maintain ongoing communication with family and other interdisciplinary staff as appropriate to resident care. Attend all interdisciplinary meetings in accordance with the policies at the Pediatric Center Provide update progress on residents care plan and report to team at plan of care and physiatry meetings. Responsible for providing monthly TR activity statistics in a timely fashion. Responsible for the coordination of residents services information placed onto individualized resident schedules. Carry out standards for customer service; quality improvement; professional development; environmental, safety and infection control practices; confidentiality, corporate compliance and all other Pediatric Center policies and procedures; attend all mandatory in-services to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in working with residents and their families. Maintain flexible work schedule to assist in needed situations or emergencies. As assigned by supervisor will act as a clinical instructor for CTRS students and provide all necessary supervision/hands on experience in order to complete and fulfill fieldwork assignment. Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator. Required Skills Education and License/Certification Requirements: B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy or Masters degree preferred CTRS Certification in Therapeutic Recreation.
