Job Code: 266 Job Summary Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Under general supervision, implements the Addiction Prevention Services (APS) Program at designated schools and in family settings. Fulfills a leadership role in the collaboration and communication between the agency and assigned school. Provides highest level of prevention services to families. Initiates and facilitates the menu of Addiction Prevention Services (APS) in schools, community-based and agency-based settings. Essential Duties 1. Demonstrates mastery of Addiction Prevention Counselor II job description. 2. Serves as a lead in providing EMQFF the Addiction Prevention Services (APS). 3. Conducts School Needs Assessment to determine appropriate service delivery. Completes Intake/assessments of youth in school settings. 4. Screens for addiction, crisis, and treatment. 5. Conducts initial and follow-up actions as required by referring agency and linkage needs. 6. Collaborates with school staff to identity and provide relevant presentations to school groups (e.g., students, parents, teachers, support staff). Assists teachers with classroom presentation. 7. Leads meetings with Addiction Prevention Services (APS) staff, school staff and families. 8. Ensures collaborative communication with school, referring agency, youth and parents. 9. Provides training and support to staff. Other Duties and Responsibilities 10. Performs other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs 11. Employee is required to meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements OTHER DUTIES 12. Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts 13. Physical interactions with children of variable ages such as, but not limited to, games, sports and other activities Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education Requirements Masters Degree (MA/ MS) in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, related field or CAADAC (California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors) certification. Experience Requirements Two (2) years of experience in Healthcare/Medical - Substance Abuse/Addiction Medicine or related field. Strong clinical and counseling skills. Other Specific Requirements Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance. Valid California Driver's license with two years experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
