    We are currently recruiting for an Engineer, Project Engineering to be based fully on-site in Jacksonville, FL.

    Role Summary:

    You will apply extensive and diversified knowledge of automation and electronic principles & practices. Make decisions regarding engineering problems and methods to address problems and to plan and spearhead work. Responsible for the engineering and quality assurance of part of a major project or for a complete small project. You will have the opportunity to focus on application administration, programming, and analytical problem solving. You will collaborate with IT, Engineering, and operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contributes, under direct supervision, to ongoing project engineering supply chain plans, key achievements, and objectives, to ensure results are aligned with customer’s operational needs and requirements.
    • Does analysis of any project engineering non-conformance and subsequent corrective and preventive actions, by detailing, investigating, conducting root cause analysis, and efficiently implementing corrective actions.
    • Drafts capital and expense forecasts for assigned engineering projects, to ensure outputs adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Estimates process validations on Project Engineering processes for subsequent operational integration and supply chain implementation.
    • Chips in to front-line Project Engineering by supporting and implementing site-specific safety and industrial hygiene requirements.
    • Communicates and calls out in a timely manner, any engineering issues or concerns to the next management level.
    • Provide technical assistance and expertise to Operations considering the implementation of a coordinated or automated factory floor system.
    • Provides technical expertise to engineering technicians to help implement a standard and strategic approach to any factory floor automation initiative.
    • Find opportunities to unlock new ways to creatively and innovatively tackle business problems that impact processes, capabilities, and team.
    • Work in a highly technical environment that will involve using process development fundamentals to support corrections, improvements, and risk management.
    • Facilitate and drive continuous improvement of equipment / processes and need to be capable of applying a variety of statistical tools to validate process improvements.
    • Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.

    Experience and Skills

    Required:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical field, preferably a focus/concentration in Automation Systems.
    • A minimum of 4 years of professional proven experience in an Automated Distribution or Manufacturing environment.
    • Detailed solid understanding of structured methodologies for software engineering, applications, and manufacturing systems such as PLC (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell) controllers and interfaces.
    • Must be open to up to 10% travel

    Preferred:

    • 1 year experience working as an Engineer in an FDA or supervised industry environment preferred.
    • Experience with statistical design, analysis of experiments and modeling.
    • Product and process validation experience.
    • Controls automation experience.

    Other:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, root-cause, and data analysis/mining skills with a strong attention to detail are helpful.
    • Experience of working within a team, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work under their own initiative/self-directed.
    • Candidates must be diligent, highly organized, and able to handle multiple tasks
