  • Responsibilities

    Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Intern to be located in New Brunswick, NJ.

    The EHS&S Intern will: Translate J&J's strong legacy of sustainability and stewardship into a business driver for all of our 250+ operating companies by supporting green marketing and product stewardship group within WW EHS&S Team.

    • Support the Johnson & Johnson’s approach to driving more sustainable product development: Review Johnson & Johnson’s Earthwards® process, tools, references and deliverables. Perform updates as required.
    • Benchmarking: Execute and maintain product stewardship and sustainability benchmarking exercises in the areas of Sustainable Packaging, Environmental Life Cycle Assessment, and Sustainable Product Development.
    • Sustainability Goals: Support the deployment of internal and external sustainability goals (e.g. sustainable packaging, green chemistry, life cycle assessment, and emerging issue management) and internal employee engagement initiatives.

    Strong ability to tackle complex problems with limited oversight. Willingness to capture data and make recommendations to improve business operations and internal customer satisfaction. Ability to build and expand on ideas, proactively developing process and operational improvements. Creativity to think in terms of long term goals and targets while influencing business partners. Basic technical understand is meaningful for elements of the job, the ideal candidate would have an interest in sustainability, marketing and the commercial aspects of our business. Also it will be meaningful for the candidate to have a personal real passion for sustainability as a business driver.

  • Qualifications

    In order to be eligible for an Environmental Health Safety & Sustainability position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing Bachelors or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Engineering or related major. Also, open to candidates that have some Marketing background.
    • Only students in their 2nd year or above will be considered.
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred, with demonstrated leadership/participation in campus programs and/or community service activities.
    • Must be considered a student during the desired co-op session(s) (i.e. will not have already graduated college).
    • Available to work a minimum of 16.5 hours/week based in New Brunswick, NJ.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written is required.
    • Authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
