Job Description
Clean fixtures, sinks, toilets, and tubs, and empty and clean waste containers; replace liners, high dust i.e., vents, clocks, tops of doors, door frames, make beds with clean linen. Upload linen data into the hospital laundry computer. Cleaning in-house linen. Environmental Services Specialist I/Linen Aide (For the individual who’s primary responsibility is Linen Aide, the percentage for this function is 90%. The remaining 10% will be comprised of all other essential functions)
Patient Room
- Clean furniture: beds, cribs, mattress, bed side table, over bed table, chairs, sofa, TV, telephone, cabinets, equipment, and patient wardrobes using disinfectant or all-purpose cleaner
- Dust mop and wet mop floors and baseboards and change mop water per 3 rooms. Isolation - change
- Mop water and mop heads; dispose of all rags
- Empty and clean waste container and replace liner
- High dust: top of door, doorframe, ceiling vent, and above lights (using the high duster stick)
- Clean fixtures: sink, mirror, pipe fixtures
- Clean door glass, windows, windowsills, and blinds using glass cleaner
- Replenish soap dispenser, towel dispenser as needed
Bathrooms: staff, patient, public
- Dust mop and wet mop floors and baseboards using disinfectant or all-purpose cleaner
- Wash walls/fixtures, light covering, pipe fixtures, holder bar, baby changing station
- Replenish soap dispenser, paper towel dispenser, toilet paper dispenser, and baby wipes
- Clean windows, windowsills, and blinds
- Change shower curtain
- Empty and clean waste container and replace liner
- High dust top of door, doorframe, ceiling vent, and above lights
Nurse’s station/medication room
- Dust mop and wet mop floors and baseboards using disinfectant or all-purpose cleaner
- Spot wash walls
- Clean sink, cabinets, counter tops

- Clean and disinfect cart
- Replenish clean linen on the units
- Check the linen inventory order as necessary
- Clean all areas pertaining to the laundry and inspect equipment for cleanliness and proper working order
