    FIRST ROBOTICS ENGINEERING SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

    The J&J Engineering Summer Internship Program is an 8-WEEK internship experience targeted to rising first-year college students who have participated in the FIRST Robotics program during high school and are pursuing a STEM course of study at the university level. Internships are hosted in J&J sites across the US and will support either the Supply Chain or Research & Development functions.

    LIFE AS A J&J ENGINEERING SUMMER INTERN

    This first-of-its kind internship program provides each selected student with real-life hands-on experience, coaching and mentoring, networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to meet people from various schools throughout the country. As this unique internship is targeted to students who have very likely never worked in a corporate environment, an intentionally designed, engaging educational experience has been planned throughout the internship to ensure you feel supported and have all the tools you need to be successful. When you join our family, you will work on projects that improve your leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Cross-functional teamwork provides an opportunity to partner with a variety of people in the organization across all our sectors; Pharmaceutical, Medical Technology, and Corporate/Enterprise. We offer an interactive team environment, where your capabilities and skills will be developed to build a strong career foundation.

    • Summer Internship term is June 2023 - August 2023 (dates may be flexible)

    • Some teams may offer an extended internship term

    • Assignments will require onsite presence at least 3 days per week, so it is necessary to be within commutable distance to one of the internship sites

    • Some roles may offer one-time housing stipend assistance if you are assigned to work onsite

    • For roles that require you to work on site, transportation is the intern's responsibility

    • Full time availability (40 hours per week)

    • This position is overtime eligible

    • There is a strong preference for candidates who have participated in the FIRST Robotics Program during high school

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship now or in the future

    • Must be available to work full-time 40 hours/week for the duration of the 8-week internship program

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited College/University Bachelor's degree program, with intention to pursue an Engineering, Science or related STEM course of study, as of the start date of the Internship

    • Completion of high school as of the start date of the internship, going into your freshman year in College

    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required

    • Within a commutable distance (50 miles or less) of one of the following locations: Raritan, NJ, Raynham, MA, Santa Clara, CA, Cincinnati, OH, Jacksonville, FL

    • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills is required

    • Excellent communication, presentation skills and leadership skills are preferred

    • Ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives while driving results

    • Ability to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a dedicated approach to achieving success is desired.

    • Must be a self-starter who can work independently while contributing to team goals

    • Intention to pursue a degree in engineering is preferred

    • Proven leadership/participation with campus programs and/or community service activities is desired

    Pay rate is determined based on the grade level at time of offer. For interns preparing to enter their first year at an undergraduate College/University, the pay rate will be $16.00/hr.
