Relief Direct Care Worker - Family After School Program

Great opportunity to join our Family After School Program as a Relief Direct Care Worker!

Riverside’s Family After-School Program offers a structured, therapeutic environment for children ages 6-12 in the Cambridge and Somerville areas who have faced challenges including neglect, homelessness, and trauma. With a focus on clinically intensive, trauma-informed services, the program helps children develop coping skills, self-expression, and peer relationships, while supporting family involvement through regular events and collaboration.

As a Direct Care – Relief team member, you’ll work collaboratively with a dedicated group of professionals—including the Program Director, Clinical Specialist, Child and Family Counselor, and Young Adult Peer Mentor—to deliver engaging programming that supports children’s emotional and social development.

In this vital role, you will:

    • Partner with the program team to maintain a positive, therapeutic environment addressing the emotional, developmental, and physical needs of each child
    • Plan, organize, and lead engaging activities that promote learning, structure, and safety
    • Supervise and interact positively with children throughout the program day
    • Communicate with team members to ensure coordination of care and consistency across services
    • Provide safe and reliable transportation for children to and from the program and on field trips

Schedule: Relief hours available Monday through Friday between 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

    Pay Rate: $20.60/hourly
