    Pharmacy Intern PRN Days Req #:18006791 Location:Land O' Lakes,FL Job Category: Pharmacy Organization: FH Connerton LTAC Description Work Hours/Shifts PRN Days Pharmacy Intern PRN Days - Land O' Lakes, FL - Job at Adventist Health System Florida Hospital Conorton Pharmacy Intern PRN Days - Land O' Lakes, FL - Job at Adventist Health System Pharmacy Intern PRN Days - Land O' Lakes, FL - Job at Adventist Health System Pharmacy Intern PRN Days - Land O' Lakes, FL - Job at Adventist Health System You will be responsible for: -Assist Pharmacists with computer order entry, medication filling and distribution of completed orders to inpatients and soon to be discharged patients. -Answer and screen phone calls for the Pharmacists -Help in the training and orientation of other interns and students who will rotate through the department. -Interns will often be tasked to look for patient specific medications/IVs that were sent up by the pharmacy but are not currently able to be located by unit staff -Compound or repackage medications for inpatient prescriptions, including topical ophthalmic, intrathecals, Pediatric oral and IV doses. -Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Intern will prepare compounding sterile preparations, aseptically accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner -Maintain compliance and familiarity with IV Room Policies and Procedures, all State and Federal Laws and USP<797> and ASHP -Maintain accurate records on products compounded and prepare appropriate labels. -Accurately fill departmental requisitions, crash cart medication trays and borrow loan forms -Rotate stock and check for expired medications -Maintain monthly floor inspections as assigned -Prioritize level of care based on critical needs. -Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds and communicate follow-up with clinical team. -Prevent, detect, and resolve medication-related problems and to make appropriate evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy recommendations as part of the interdisciplinary team. -Determine and resolve any medication therapy problems including drugs without indications, medical conditions for which no therapy is prescribed, therapy inappropriate for medical condition, incomplete immunization record, inappropriate dose, dosage form, duration, schedule, route of administration, method of administration, therapeutic duplication, medication allergies, and clinically significant drug, drug-disease, drug-nutrient, or drug-laboratory test interactions. -Participate in opportunities to improve the quality, effectiveness, and/or efficiency in distributing medications to our customers and patients. -Provide concise, applicable, comprehensive, and timely responses to requests for drug information from patients and health care providers. -Ability to supervise and train assigned staff. -Perform all other duties as assigned -Comply with all Federal and State regulatory laws and rules applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
