  • Responsibilities

    Assist the pharmacist in the distribution of medication for pharmacy. Responsibilities include chemotherapeutic medication preparation, delivery, procurement of chemotherapy medications, inventory control, and HMOC record keeping.

    Required Skills

    1. Possess knowledge of drug names, medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and different pharmacy work areas and equipment used.
    2. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to convey information effectively.
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
    4. Excellent organizational skills.
    5. Ability to establish, maintain and promote effective working relationships.
    6. Excellent computer skills.
    7. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
    8. Highly Customer Service Oriented individual.

    Required Experience

    EXPERIENCE

    Two years hospital work experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.

    Two years work experience at a Children’s Hospital preferred.

    Previous work experience with chemotherapeutic preparation preferred

     LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

    Current registration for Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

    Current registration with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

    National I.V. Certification required.               

    EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

    High School graduate or equivalent.

    Graduation from a Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
