Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer should have a mix of technical and customer service skills and have at least 5 years of experience. We are looking for a Network Engineer to provide support for customers. Candidates should have a mix of technical and customer service skills and be passionate about technology and helping people. Candidates with Cisco certifications are certainly desired or candidates who have more than 8 years of solid network experience are also highly desired. T ** ravel to client sites in south Florida is required.**

Network Engineer Responsibilities:

- Investigate user problems; determine possible solutions; test and implement solutions as appropriate.

- Handle incoming issues via tickets or phone and escalate as necessary.

- Follow up with customers and see all tickets through to timely resolution.

- Ensure proper recording and closure of all tickets.

- Create accounts and configure hardware as needed.

- Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network.

- Do installs, configuration and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures disk drives, printers, and related equipment.

- Assist with network security, including maintaining firewalls, basic configuring VPN, managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Prefer 5-7 years’ experience in advanced network and firewall design and support.
• Knowledge and experience with enterprise networking equipment and general networking troubleshooting required.
• In-depth knowledge of network and security monitoring, performance trending and capacity planning.
• Significant past experience and expertise in the following protocols & technologies: TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, TACACS/RADIUS, IPSEC, VPNs, Netflow, SNMP, syslog & DNS.
• Networking Certifications required (Cisco or equivalent).
• Experience managing telecommunications.
• Cisco or Nokia experience highly preferred.
• Cyber security audit and remediation experience a plus.
• Experience supporting Windows, Linux and UNIX servers a plus.
• Utility experience highly desirable.
• Experience working with Electric Cooperatives is a plus.
• Experience with multiple network vendors a plus (Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet, etc…).
