    Economic Support Spec 3 - 00207302 Ga.Dept of Community Health - Atlanta, GA Full-time, Part-time Paygrade G The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of almost 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid and oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP), Healthcare Facility Regulation and Health Information Technology in Georgia for one in four Georgians. Through effective planning, purchasing and oversight, DCH provides access to affordable, quality health care to millions of Georgians, including some of the state's most vulnerable and under-served populations. Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency's four program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state. The Georgia Department of Community Health, Medicaid Division, is seeking a qualified candidate for the Economic Support Specialist 3 position with the Right from the Start Medical Assistance Group. The position is based in Downtown Atlanta, GA (Fulton County). Job Responsibilities: This position reports to the RSM Long Term Care Supervisor. Work hours are generally 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p. Flexibility with these office hours may be required depending upon the work location assignment and responsibilities. The RSM Outreach Project Medicaid Eligibility Specialist: * Accepts applications and determines eligibility for various classes of ABD Medicaid assistance specializing in Long Term Care Medicaid. * Calculates budgets, manually and using appropriate devices. * Keys in a high volume of data using standard office hardware and software. * Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Essential duties and responsibilities: * Must pass the Mandatory RSM New Hire Policy Training. * Must be able to perform simple math calculations. * Frequent traveling and overnight stays * Have a valid Georgia Driver's License * Must have reliable transportation for work, traveling to meetings and for other official business for the agency. * Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint Core Competencies * Ability to accurately complete basic mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, etc. as needed) in order to compute budget data to determine client eligibility

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and accurately enter a high volume of data on a regular basis using standard office technology * Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills * Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment Candidates selected for an interview should be prepared to: * Discuss their experience working with government programs and/or customer services experience * Discuss their experience making public presentations * Discuss their oral, written and interpersonal skill set as well as a focus on attention to detail * Discuss their experience establishing/maintaining professional relationships External candidates offered employment will participate in a required training program. During that time, the new hire will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the policies and procedures that govern the assigned program area(s). This will be assessed through the completion of a series of practice cases and proficiency examinations. The minimum standard for all training is an overall grade average of at least 80% in each class for this mandatory training. If the final average score is below the required minimum of 80%, the new hire will be released from employment. DCH provides services to ensure the health and welfare of all Georgians. In the event of an emergency, any employee may be required to assist in meeting the emergency responsibilities of the department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED AND Two years of related experience OR Completion of 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university AND One year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience which involved customer contact/interaction as a regular part of the job OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR One year of experience at the lower level Economic Support Spec 2 (SST071) or position equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications applicants must possess the following: * Bachelor's degree from an approved accredited college or university and experience that involved screening or interviewing customers/clients * High school diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of experience which involved screening or interviewing customers/clients as a regular part of the position * One (1) year as an Economic Support Specialist or Associate * Medicaid experience or comparable program experience ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: EARN MORE THAN A SALARY!
