    Job Description

    Golden Valley Health Centers is hiring for an IT Security Engineer for our Atwater, CA site!

    The IT Security Engineer is an advanced-level position, responsible for day-to-day event and incident monitoring, threat detection and data correlation, and incident response spanning a wide range of security monitoring tools. The Security Engineer assists in collecting potential breach evidence, participates in network and host forensic analysis, and follows up with incident remediation activities for Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC). This includes designing, deploying and managing the security infrastructure, including endpoint security, firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, MFA and other network security devices.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform advanced system design, enhancements and implementation of information security solutions and technical controls for large scope projects.
    • Participate in threat hunting, technical risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing of systems, networks and applications.
    • Assist with security awareness initiatives that educate and engage GVHC employees, vendors and affiliates regarding information security risks and best practices.
    • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to automate processes related to security implementations, monitoring, and enforcement.
    • Collaborate with vendors as required to support a wide range of security tools.
    • Prepare and maintain various security reports, dashboards, knowledge articles, logical diagrams, physical diagrams and other supporting documentations.
    • Participate as a member of the Information Security Incident Response Team.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Travel between GVHC sites is required using either a GVHC-owned or personal vehicle. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but at times you may be required to work in server rooms with noise levels in keeping with that atmosphere, including server and fan noise, A/C cooling noise and cold temperatures, networking equipment noise and fans, etc.

    MIN. QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Advanced knowledge of common information security tools and systems: DLP, MAM/MDM, Firewall/VPN, endpoint protection, PKI, RBAC, IAM, etc.
    • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Services, Group Policy Management, DNS, Web Server IIS and Window Server Update Services.
    • Experience in leading or participating in incident response.
    • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies including routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and the various components of the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
    • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving.
    • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, including development of project timelines, scope, task and deliverable tracking, leading project meetings and conducting service transition.
    • Preferred knowledge of HIPAA & PCI-DSS regulations
    • Preferred knowledge of Healthcare regulations and California Consumer Privacy regulations.
    • Must possess a valid Class C California Driver’s License, acceptable driving history and proof of liability insurance.
    • Demonstrated practical experience with scripting languages like PowerShell and Python for automation.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
    • Minimum six (6) years of relevant cybersecurity, network and/or server administration experience, OR an Associate’s Degree in an Information Technologies discipline PLUS minimum four (4) years of relevant cybersecurity, network and/or server administration experience.
    • Previous senior or supervisory experience in a technical position preferred.
    • Possessing a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or a security certification (CompTIA Security +, CASP +, CCSP) strongly preferred.
