Hanover Township, located in northwest Cook County, serves over 101,000 residents in portions of the Cook County communities of Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Streamwood, and Schaumburg. Qualifications: Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, Political Science or related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills required. Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Must be able to work independently or in a team setting. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist in planning Township events Track and maintain community event calendars for the Township Light research and writing for staff Duties as assigned by staff Run social media sites Create digital content Run the weekly e-newsletters Maintain phones Understanding of Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Adobe Products is strongly recommended but not required. Throughout the internship, interns will have opportunities to gain experience in many areas of Township government and its services. This position will start on January 28, 2019.
