The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization. The primary mission of the payroll department is to ensure that all employees are paid accurately. The payroll department is responsible for the timely remittance of wages, withholdings and deductions in accordance with regulatory requirements. The Payroll Analysts and Coordinators partner together towards this common objective. Job Summary The Payroll Coordinator works in conjunction with the Payroll Analysts and Management to ensure the payroll is processed accurately for all employees of Hartford Healthcare. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to: > Assists employees in person and on the phone and provides accurate information in a professional and timely manner. > Provides correct wage information requested by attorneys or subpoenas and responds in a timely manner. > Reports all near misses, potential and actual errors to the supervisor in a timely manner. > Confirms resignations and terminations with the Human Resources department. > Reviews and coordinates final paperwork, Time and Attendance and final check issuance with the department. > Adheres to Federal and/or State labor laws pertaining to Wage and Hour laws. > Initiates calculation and entry of manual checks. > Calculates and enters Payroll Adjustment transactions. > Works with Payroll Analyst/Treasury to process voids and reissuance of lost/stale checks. > Distribution of payroll checks. > Correctly completes employment verifications. > Provides correct information regarding W2s. > Reviews and enters W4 and Direct Deposit information correctly into computer system, when applicable. > Keeps current on hospital pay policies and has the knowledge to provide correct information to the employees. > Participates in quality improvement activities for departmental and section specific processes. > Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Bachelors Degree strongly preferred Experience: Three years of payroll experience, preferably in Healthcare Kronos and PeopleSoft application experience, strongly preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills required We take great care of careers.
