    As an Intern/Practicum Student in our School-Based programs, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and their families through our successful mental health programs. You will be providing individual therapy services to children and adolescents in a school setting.

    CANDIDATES MUSTSUBMIT THE FOLLOWINGWITH THEIR APPLICATION:

    1. A one to two page past written paper essay on a mental health topic or your philosophy on working with people.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Provide Diagnostic Assessments using the DSM.
    2. Develop treatment plans in timely manner in accordance with presenting problems and evidenced based practices. Treatment plans are to be reviewed with the supervisor and client/parents to be approved and signed.
    3. Provide individual and/or family therapy and document sessions in case notes for each session.
    4. Provide group counseling when appropriate including, but not limited to, social skills, family change, and substance use.
    5. Participate in weekly individual supervision with clinical supervisor and ongoing task supervision daily.
    6. Participate in twice-monthly case consultation groups to present and discuss therapeutic cases and any other staff or business related meetings as needed/required for the program.
    7. Participate in IEP and Student Assistant Team meetings for clients on the student's caseload.
    8. Perform any other duties as indicated by the interest of the students.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Active participation in Master's or Doctoral program in psychology, social work, family therapy, or related field
    • Completion of Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, family therapy or related field.
    • Knowledge of community-based resources including mental health, social service agencies, chemical health, etc.
    • Ability to collaborate with community agencies to provide services.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written format.
    • Ability to interact with a range of personalities and diverse individuals.
    • Commitment to minimum of nine months and at least 20 hours weekly for internship.
    • Lift up to 25 lbs, extended periods of sitting
