General Information Location 1000 RUSH DRIVE Salida, CO 81201 United States Employee Type Non-Exempt Job Category Full Time Contact Information Name Chris Hudson Phone 719-530-2054 Email chris.hudson@hrrmc.net Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Assists with scheduling and confirms patient appointments, considering the unique requirements of the clinic, patient and provider. Use of the clinic scheduling system and strong telephone skills are required. 1. Proficient use of EHR, to utilize within appropriate scope, and to support the provider and practice. Utilizes email, internet, intranet and other sites as may be required for this position. 2. Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic tests, obtaining pre-authorizations and drug financial assistance programs for clinic patients as needed. 3. Coordinates patient care including referrals from outside providers, obtaining medical records as needed and providing medical records as needed to other providers. 4. Provides direct patient care and support with required competency validation during the clinic as necessary and within the scope of practice. 5. Makes follow up calls to patients and relays results of diagnostic tests as directed by the Physician and clinic guidelines, 6. Ensures that necessary supplies and equipment are accessible at all times. 7. Prepares, retrieves and maintains appropriate records and other documentation of clinic activities. 8. Establishes communication and positive relationships with medical staff, clinic, and hospital departments. 9. Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for patient care. 10. Confers with the manager/RN Clinical supervisor regarding changes and improvements in clinic services. 11. Employs tact and courtesy at all times, with patients, physicians, visitors and co-workers. Continually strives to establish and maintain good rapport and working relationships to foster positive intra and interdepartmental communications. Ability to establish strong, positive and professional relationships with patients and families is critical. 12. Works cooperatively with other clinic staff members. Cross trains to other clinics to be able to provide relief and PTO coverage. OTHER DUTIES 1. Attends committee meetings as assigned. 2. Promotes the efficient use of all clinic resources. 3. Observes all safety rules. 4. Maintains verifications/education requirements as appropriate. 5. Actively participates in the HRRMC Organizational Strategic plan. Requirements EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE Graduate of a certificate or AA program such as a Medical Assistant or certificate from an accredited vocational school of human medicine, or technical LPN program plus a minimum of 1 year experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must maintain Medical Assistant certification Must maintain current CPR certification
