    Research Assistant I - 8 hours/week Job Locations US-MA-Roslindale Job ID 2019-2470 Category Research/Medicine Overview Works with and under the direction of Principal Investigator on qualitative research study. Carries out research/development activities on project involving persons with dementia, their care partners, and their health care/spiritual care providers. Conducts recruitment efforts and open-ended, qualitative interviews of these individuals; makes detailed observations during and after interviews; and assists in analyzing the qualitative data and interpreting results. May prepare reports, summaries, and protocols. This is a 1 year position, working 8 hours per week Responsibilities Responsible for assisting with participant recruitment and qualitative data collection and analysis. Prepares tracking reports to be shared with Principal Investigator. Prepares Institutional Review Board documents in collaboration with Principal Investigator, as needed. The above covers the most significant responsibilities of the position. It does not, however, exclude other duties which would be in conformity with the level of the position. Completes additional projects as assigned. Qualifications B.A. or B.S. degree in the social sciences; and additional 2-3 years of related work experience preferred. Must be professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented individual. Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, good intuition and able to adapt to changing priorities and display good, sound judgment with a sense of humor. Superb organizational skills. Must have solid qualitative analytical skills. Must be creative and proactive yet disciplined, discriminating, and able to streamline work volume in order to maintain bottom line efforts in midst of multi-tasking and daily re-prioritizing. Must have ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and handle even difficult situations. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change. Must demonstrate respect and professionalism regarding subjects' rights, individual needs, and a working knowledge of HIPAA Protected Health Information regulations. Experience working with older adults, especially those with cognitive impairment, a plus. Background in study of religion/spirituality from an interfaith perspective, a plus. Computer literacy required; experience with Windows, Word, Excel, and databases. Experience with qualitative data management software a plus.
