    Staff Development Trainer The Helen Ross McNabb Center (www.mcnabbcenter.org) is a premier not-for-profit provider of behavioral health services. The Center provides quality care and serves all ages in a continuum of prevention, early intervention, social, co-occurring, addiction, outpatient and crisis services. The Center is seeking motivated staff members that possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. Excellent verbal, written and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as, maintaining proper documentation. Clinical staff members must be able to take and pass, without major modifications, a course in Handle with Care. This program requires hands-on, physical components to ensure the safety of the clients and staff. HRMC is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic professional for the following position: Staff Development Trainer and Personnel Support. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Knowledge: Bachelors Degree in Education or related field, or Bachelors Degree related to behavioral sciences, with knowledge of adult learning, training design, and training methodology. Knowledge of human resource policies and employment law required. Experience: One year of experience in classroom teaching or training delivery preferred. Clinical experience and knowledge preferred. Skills: Must have excellent people, role-modeling and communication skills. Must be comfortable with and have excellent skills in public speaking. Must have excellent computer skills (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new software products quickly. Required to become certified as a trainer in a verbal and physical crisis intervention program, CPR, and First Aid; ability to develop and adhere to training schedules; ability to quickly learn, understand, and teach new materials. Abilities: Must be able to have excellent attendance and start the work day at assigned time. Must be able to complete a large amount of computer data entry daily and communication with supervisors. Must be able to do long periods of sitting and standing. Close computer work required. Must be able to work effectively in a team with various personalities. Must be able to do advanced physical training in Handle With Care and this includes standing, stooping, grabbing, running, holding other people including adults, landing on knees on ground, and other physical abilities. Must be able to see with correction, hear normal tones, and talk on phone and talk in training. JOB SUMMARY The Staff Development Trainer and Personnel Support designs, manages and delivers orientation, preservice and inservice trainings to staff, students and agency temporary personnel face to face and with online training software products. This position supports the HR Department in hiring processes by screening applicants, ensuring hiring compliance, and enter employees in the HRIS system. In addition, supports the Department with completing background checks, making identification badges, and license verification when needed. This position is also instrumental in the assistance of recruiting new talented staff to the Center through online advertising, career fairs, and positive representation in the community. The Staff Development Trainer executes portions of the staff retention plan that includes supporting staff through recognition, personal cards, Longevity award support, creating the communications to the Director regarding staff accomplishments and accolades, and recognition in intranet communications. The goal of the Staff Development Trainer and Personnel Support is to maximize productivity through employee support, recruitment, retention and development. This position develops a comprehensive training program that meets all licensing and contractual standards for each program and ensures audit compliance including drug rep trainings. This position serves on the Zero Suicide committee and provides Center-wide suicide training. Makes current employee badges within 3 days of request b. Posts inservice training times online weekly c. Plan and posts inservice training no less than 3 months in advance d. Enters in staff data to online data bases within 72 hours as assigned e. Coordinates the hiring and orientation of agency staff f. Helps organize and edit job descriptions to ensure that staff are well informed of their expectations g. Serves as the helpdesk for Relias training software and assists employees with issues immediately or in less than 48 hours of request 2. Creates and delivers orientation for new staff members a. Keeps up certification in CPR/First Aid/ BLS-HCP b. Is certified yearly in HWC c. Delivers HWC no less than 25 times per year d. Delivers First Aid/CPR training no less than 25 times per year e. Delivers all orientation material in 40 work hours f. Ensures weekly materials are copied and look professional g. Ensures cleanliness and professional appearance of all Human resource areas h. Starts orientation no later than 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5 with an hour lunch break 3. Demonstrates professionalism through responsiveness, a positive work climate and cultural competency a. Engage hiring supervisor in a positive, professional manner with a servant attitude to ensure staff person is oriented to the Center and if there are any outstanding items the staff needs to turn in b. Has a servant attitude and behaviors as evidenced by no complaints to the Dir of Workforce Development and Personnel c. Brings at least two new ideas to improve staff training, recruitment or retention to weekly team meetings d. Works well with other departments as evidenced by co-worker and department supervisor report e. Embodies professionalism through training on professionalism in orientation, appearance, work ethic and exchanges with orienteers and co-workers f. Assists with discipline and terminations when needed for support of supervisors 4. Assists with ongoing employee development a. Documents staff participation in drug rep presentations in Elevate b. Provide quarterly report data on number of staff participating in drug rep trainings and at what sites c. Helps with audit compliance and has fewer than two findings on each audit on personnel files on training completion d. Takes initiative to create and assign new trainings and curriculums to meet the needs of each program e. Delivers on site trainings that staff need in outlying counties to meet their certification requirements no less than 3 times per year 5. Assists with retention of staff members a. Engages staff positively by soliciting praises and accolades from supervisors and develops a communication for the Director, the Intranet and McNabb newsletter/publishings b. Shares in the responsibility of recognizing staff birthdays 6. Assists with recruitment a. Posts jobs on DATIS/Mcnabbcenter.org/Monster within 24 hours of becoming vacant 7. Helps to manage e3 accuracy a. Checks career levels and job codes quarterly to fix any outliers b. Moves supervisors with reports when requests come in with corresponding notification emails c. Audits and changes location codes quarterly d. End old positions that have been vacant or frozen for several months with supervisor approval e. Fixes job titles when supervisor requests f. Analyzes vacancy report to help supervisors reduce time to fill g.
