    Security Officer part time 30 hours/week - evening shift Danville, IN/en-US/Hendricks_External_Career_Site/job/Danville-IN/Security-Officer-part-time-30-hours-week---evening-shift_R-2454/apply Job Summary : Primarily scheduled for a tactical shift (5p-11p typically) and will do off-site patrol at various HRH sites. Previous security, law enforcement, or corrections experience highly desired. Summary: Serves the needs of the associates, visitors, patients, and public through the efficient and effective completion of security functions and interpretation of hospital policies and procedures. The Security Officer shall be assigned to make patrols, maintain and perform different kinds of checks, tests, and equipment logs and other kinds of assignments within the department. The Security Officer shall enforce hospital policies and procedures by evaluating the problems, making out reports, or notifying responsible persons. Job Description Essential Responsibilities:nbsp; 1. Security Officer shall enforce and/or report violations of hospital policies and procedures; 2. Security Officer shall make patrols in the hospital buildings and around the hospital grounds according to scheduled tours of duty, and shall protect the property from theft, vandalism, or other wrongful acts, investigating situations as necessary; 3. Security officer shall be familiar with the physical layout off all hospital campuses and be able to conduct security checks or respond to calls for service from those facilities. 4. Security Officer shall complete entries into the electronic log which accurately describe activities taken during their shift; 5. Security Officer shall report any emergency problems and follow-up on matters where warranted; 6. Security Officer shall perform specified tasks, including but not limited to, the following items; a. Complete equipment rounds and logs; b. Complete assigned minor maintenance work orders; c. Complete PM checks on patient rooms or areas; d. Adjust TV sets; e. Install or remove patient helpers on beds; f. Request outside service from contractors as appropriate; g. Carry out special instructions from Security Supervisor, Assistant Director, or Department Director; 7. Implement hospital parking policies as described in departmental procedures by issuing tickets or installing wheel locks; 8. Look for unsafe conditions, report those as necessary to appropriate persons, or take equipment out of service as necessary to promote safety; 9. Maintain hospital key control and key logs; 10. Escort visitors and associates to and from parking areas as requested; 11. Review and stay current on all applicable departmental procedures; 12. Escort patients and visitors as requested by medical staff and assist law enforcement officers in accordance with hospital policies. *Note: While these are considered essential responsibilities of the position, alternatives or accommodations may be considered if the situation requires. Education and Experience Required:nbsp; 1. High school diploma or equivalent; 2. Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, read, and follow oral or written instructions; 3. Working knowledge of general requirements of a security officer; minimum two years experience with security-related organization such as hospital, hotel, contract security organization, or campus security organization. 4. Ability to communicate in tense or stressful situations; 5. Ability to take on-the-job training; Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:nbsp; Must possess a valid Indiana drivers license.
