VP- Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Henry Ford Allegiance Health New Jackson, Michigan Business (Non-Clinical) 18 hours ago Post Date 181955 Requisition # Share this Job The Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan is a strategic financial partner of the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) Chief Financial Officer, and Henry Ford Allegiance Healths (HFAH) CEO and Executive Team. The VP must maintain personal and professional credibility and integrity and maintain respect and confidence throughout the System. This position has a dual reporting relationship to the HFHS CFO and the HFAH CEO. Duties & Responsibilities; 1. Strategic: a. Partner with the HFHS CFO, and HFAH CEO and Executive Team to develop, gain approval, and execute a sustainable long-term financial strategy for HFAH that supports the Systems and HFAHs mission, vision, values and execution of the HFAH strategic plan on behalf of the community. b. Provide executive oversight for strategic financial support performance improvement and analytics. c. Lead business financial planning analysis on new physician network and business opportunities 2. Operational: a. Connects HFHS Finance functions to HFAH in a meaningful and strategic way: fiscal services, accounts payable, financial planning, financial and operational decision support and cost accounting for HFAH and all of its subsidiary corporations, including its Medical Group and Clinically Integrated Network (CIN). b. Lead the HFAH preparation, review and approval of the annual operating, cash and capital budgets, including monitoring budget versus actual operating performance on a monthly basis and reporting significant variances to the HFHS CFO, HFAH CEO and accountable executives in the alignment and coordination with HFHS leaders and processes. Production and presentation to HFAH Board of Trustees, Board committees and leadership on a timely basis, accurate financial statements and leadership reports for HFAH and all of its subsidiaries. c. Interpretation and coordination of the HFHS policies on finance, accounting, budgeting, financial/accounting systems, internal controls and auditing. d. Coordinate with HFHS Finance Division to support the completion of: i. Timely preparation and filing of federal, state, hospital association and other third party financial reports, as required. ii. Management of the external audit engagement and timely reporting of the findings to the Finance Committee. iii. Preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). iv. Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting to assure payroll accuracy and labor reporting. e. Support Director, Performance Analytics and Improvement, to provide timely analyses and data to support strategic plan and execution, make necessary changes to optimize performance and assess operational and strategic initiatives. 3. Partner/Advisory Services: a. Partner with the HFHS CFO, HFAH CEO and Executive Team and relevant system executives to: i. Provide accurate and timely cost/profitability/cash flow analyses and reports on physicians, departments, service lines, hospitals, joint ventures and other products and services. ii. Coordinate development of pro forma analyses on initiatives. iii. Closely monitor financial and statistical data for early identification of trends. iv. Collaborates with HFAH and HFHS Executives, finance and operations leaders to develop action plans in response to variances from budget. v. Coordinate and monitor improvement plans including implementation of Lean/Six Sigma initiatives. vi. Preparation and presentation of reports to the HFAH Board of Trustees, Board committees, Executive Team and others as needed. vii. Coordinate Internal audit function for HFAH and timely reporting of findings to the Board Compliance Committee. viii. Ensure revenue optimization, regulatory compliance, accuracy, timeliness and customer satisfaction, calculation of accurate contractual and third party reserves. Partner with revenue cycle staff on special projects. b. Takes an active role in financial risk management of HFAH to ensure adequate financial coverage regarding professional liability, property and other risk exposures. c. Serves on the Finance Committees of the HFAH Medical Group and CIN to provide input and guidance in their business strategies including payer contracting. 4. Leadership: a. Lead finance staff through establishment of performance goals and allocation of resources. b. Actively support development of financial knowledge and acumen of HFAH leaders including translation of financial information in meaningful ways. 5. Governance: a. Lead HFAH Finance Committee planning and presentation and coordinate with committee chair, HFHS CFO and HFAH CEO. b. Attend the HFAH Board of Trustees meetings and report as needed. 6. Development & Community Affiliations: a. Maintain professional growth and development through conferences and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest industry trends. b. Attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as a health system and industry representative. Masters Degree in Business (MBA), Masters Degree in Health Administration (MHA) or Masters Degree in Management (MSM) is strongly preferred. Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is required. 10 years experience with at least three (3) years as a senior financial executive in a health care system, major complex medical center or national health care consulting firm. Experience with managed care contracting, risk contracting, strongly preferred. Knowledge of health care reimbursement and revenue cycle strongly preferred. Knowledge and application of Lean and/or Six Sigma process improvement techniques and culture, strongly preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desired.
