As a Pharmacist you will perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. While your work will take place over the phone, you'll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you consult with physicians regarding medications and overall wellness. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews and approves / denies requests for prescription prior authorizations
• Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks and customer service advocates
• Organizes workload, sets priorities, completes assignments in a timely manner and utilizes resources appropriately while complying with department program standards
• Performs all duties and functions in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Conforms with and supports department quality assurance and improvement guidelines
• Position will have a set schedule with minimum of 40 hours / week
• Position will rotate being on call every other week / weekend

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pharmacist license in good standing in the state of California
• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
• 1+ year of experience working in a hospital or home infusion setting
• Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment and the ability to create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word. Ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Willing and able to potentially rotate being on call every other week / weekend, in the future if needed
• Home Care or Home Infusion experience
• Pharm D
• PBM or Managed Care experience
• Nutritionally Certified
