Summary of Key Responsibilities: Performs departmental or department head administrative support. ** ** Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: * Provides administrative support including typing, composing and proofreading correspondence, indexing and filing documents. * Transcribes scientific protocols, manuscripts, abstracts, power point presentations other correspondence as needed. * Answers inquiries or refer callers/visitors to appropriate individuals. * Compiles reports from data and existing records. * Maintains timesheets and expense reports. * Ensures adequacy of office supplies and equipment. * Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments and calendars for directors. * Make travel arrangements. * Attends meetings as assigned and reports on actions. * Participates in educational activities and programs. * Maintains strictest confidentiality. * Assists other staff as requested and performs other related work as needed. * Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement. * During your employment with SCRI you will be routinely assigned training requirements. Competencies: * Knowledge: A body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience * Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems * Knowledge of office management practices Knowledge of secretarial procedures * Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy * Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately * Skills: _The proficiency to perform a certain task _ * Skill in computer applications, especially Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Skill in gathering and reporting information * Abilities: _An underlying, enduring trait useful for performing duties _ * Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment is essential * Ability to work effectively with staff, and other internal and external sponsors and agencies ** ** Education: Minimum Required: High School Diploma (GED) Preferred: Associate Degree (2 yr program) Experience: Preferred: * Three years of secretarial experience or equivalent experience. Appropriate education may be substituted for partial experience. * One year experience working in a health care organization. * Proven experience in using MS Office.
