    Clinical Pharmacist (ED), Mixed ShiftsJob Code: 01307-8489 Full-time Mixed (rotating weekends) Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is a 257-bed top-performing quality hospital with over 200 of the most highly respected and qualified physicians in the area. It is the only acute care hospital in the TriCounty area that offers open heart surgery , an Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by the Joint Commission and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. An affiliate of the UAB Cancer Community Network , Fort Walton offers a Cancer Care Center that is accredited by the Commission on Cancer . Fort Walton Beach Medical Center also provides advanced care for critically ill patients, including cardiovascular and trauma injury care, and emergency services, including a main ER , Pediatric ER and Destin ER . Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is in partnership with Twin Cities Hospital, located in Niceville. We are also the parent company of the Rehabilitation Institute, both located in Destin. Position Summary: The General Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing general clinical and pharmacy services. This includes supervision of technical staff. Duties (including, but not limited to): Interpret orders and transcribes or verifies them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection Support and participate in the goals of the organizations quality improvement, risk management and patient safety program to include but not limited to National Patient Safety Goals, Core Measures and HCAHPS medication related initiatives Participate in the training of new pharmacists, pharmacy students, and technicians Compliant with facility pharmacy schedule to work physically at patient care areas to interact with medical staff, nurses and other members of the healthcare team Supervise and assist pharmacy technicians and other support staff effectively Qualifications: B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy required Minimum of one year of hospital experience is preferred An EEO/AA Employer M/F/V/D Last Edited: 12/26/2018 Apply for this job Why Choose HCA?
