    Reentry Job Developer Location: New York, NY Overview The Jails to Jobs Program is a new collaboration between Housing Works Inc. and the Mayors Office of Criminal Justice ( MOCJ ) aimed at expanding capacity for workforce development opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals released from Brooklyn and Manhattan Detention Centers. Specifically, the Jails to Jobs Program will develop job placement opportunities and employment pathways, offer advanced vocational training courses, place individuals in paid internships and provide employment retention support and monitoring. The Jails to Jobs Program will compliment Housing Works pre-existing SMART (Specialized Model for Adult Reentry Treatment) Program currently serving adult males 22 years of age and older detained in NYC Department of Correction ( DOC ) custody. Reporting to the Senior Job Developer, the Job Developer will initiate and maintain ongoing contacts with NYC industry representatives, employers and hiring managers, coordinate and promote employment placement and paid internship opportunities, facilitate employer education presentations, match qualified clients with employment vacancies and participate in outreach and recruitment activities. The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of two years experience in workforce development, sales or recruitment capacity and proven experience developing career and placement pathways. Experience working with formerly incarcerated clients and knowledge of criminal justice policy and legislation preferred, but not required. A Bachelors Degree is required; Masters Degree preferred in a related field of social work, sales or communications. The Job Developer will also support Housing Works mission and exemplify our core values.
