    Program Assistant Location: Brooklyn, NY Overview Housing Works is a healing community of people living with and affected by HIV /AIDS. Our mission is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts. Headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, Housing Works is the largest community-based AIDS service organization in the United States, as well as the nations largest minority-controlled AIDS service organization. Since our founding in 1990, we have provided lifesaving services to more than 30,000 homeless and low-income people living with HIV /AIDS in New York City. Housing Works seeks a Program Assistant and Data Entry Clerk to perform data entry and quality management activities in support of The Undetectables, Housing Works groundbreaking viral suppression program for vulnerable and marginalized people with HIV . This position would work in multiple databases to input health-related client information, run reports, review data for accuracy, and work with staff across to departments to clean up inaccuracies or provide missing data. They will also provide general administrative support related to The Undetectables and other priorities of the Project Management team. At least 50% or more of this positions time will be spent performing data entry; this will likely be higher during the initial months. In time, this position will assume additional responsibilities, including administrative and general office support; taking the lead on Undetectables data quality projects; and light project management, such as coordinating data reporting for Housing Works participation in the New York State DSRIP Program. This position reports to the Director of Project Management and works under the supervision of the Project Manager responsible for The Undetectables. It also works closely with members of the Quality Initiatives and Data Operations teams. A successful candidate will have a passion for accuracy, the ability to quickly master new systems, and a commitment to improving the health of people with or at risk of contracting HIV . A strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and a team-oriented approach are essential, as is the flexibility to take on new responsibilities as requested. Responsibilities Perform data entry in eSHARE as well as in e-ICare, eCW, and/or other systems Run data reports from multiple systems, analyze data for accuracy, and identify issues to be addressed Develop and carry out action plans to address data quality issues Work with staff across programs, sites, and departments (e.g., case management, Quality Initiatives) to obtain and clean up data Comply with all requirements surrounding client confidentiality Provide general office support such as copying and scanning; maintaining organized electronic files; preparing documents/information packets; packing and shipping materials; and maintaining inventory of program supplies Support meetings by booking meeting space, sending out reminders, working with IT to set up audiovisual needs, taking attendance, and taking meeting minutes Contribute to occasional events related to advocacy and/or health care initiatives such as The Undetectables Complete other tasks as requested Qualifications Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant field 2 years minimum experience of related work Strong ability to receive written or verbal instructions and apply them to work tasks Basic knowledge of data collection and how to look at quantitative reports Ability to think critically about data related to gender, sexuality, race, housing status, etc. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities Interest in growth, including mastering current responsibilities and taking on new projects Ability to work in office during designated hours Commitment to ending the AIDS epidemic in New York State by 2020 Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and a working knowledge of other computer systems Housing Works provides equal employment opportunities ( EEO ) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
