Part Time Community Nutrition Educator Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Kingston (Ulster County) - Kingston, NY Position Type Part Time Education Level Bachelors Salary Range $21,600.00 - $21,600.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage Up to 25% Job Shift Day Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Community Nutrition Educator Mid-Hudson is responsible for the operation of HVCS' Nutritional Initiative Program in Dutchess and Ulster Counties. Implement and maintain systems for the compilation of pantry bags and vouchers in order to maintain program standards. Develop and implement monthly individual and group Nutrition Health Education sessions for each client in order to maintain program standards. Work collaboratively with dietitians on clients needs and counsel clients regarding eating nutritionally balanced meals to ensure clients are adherent to program guidelines. Facilitate referrals and maintain cooperative linkages with HIV service organizations, case management, and other relevant community resources to ensure clients needs are being met. Complete all program related documentation in a clear and comprehensive manner which is in compliance with agency standards and requirements. Qualifications Bachelors degree in in Nutrition, or related field such as health education or family and consumer sciences or related field (Masters preferred). 2-3 years experience working in the field of HIV/AIDS or other chronic illness, and 2-3 years experience facilitating nutrition health education. Good communication skills and an understanding of community level work and collaboration with other organizations also required. Must have strong data entry skills. Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and independent means of transportation for frequent travel to locations throughout the assigned county as well as to the offices of Hudson Valley Community Services (HVCS)
