    This pioneering position is responsible for helping to drive Optum application development forward by implementing and administering the Continuous Delivery Service offering enterprise grade Build, SCM, Binary Repo, and Pipeline/Deployment solutions for distributed applications within Optum Technology/United Health Group.

    Our ideal candidate can become a productive Continuous Delivery engineer quickly, and will help with our suite of CICD tools including: Jenkins, Artifactory, XL Deploy, XL Release, and GitHub Enterprise! You have familiarity with Cloud infrastructure and Continuous Delivery methodology that help development teams produce pipelines that improve software quality. You keep current with new technologies and SDLC concepts. When you face obstacles, you work through them. Constraints make you creative and you constantly look for opportunities to improve.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Providing enterprise level support for Continuous Delivery services, including best practice definitions and guidelines, team mentoring and training, and break-fix support
    • Collaborating with customer and team engineers to resolve build server or deployment related problems as required
    • Help develop forward thinking Continuous Delivery methodologies at an enterprise scope
    • Configure, implement, and automate Continuous Delivery pipelines for software delivery teams utilizing Jenkins, and XebiaLabs toolsets
    • Providing system support, including vendor and custom enhancements via plugins for Continuous Delivery Enablement Services offerings
    • Ability to apply complex principles, theories and concepts of the Agile, CI and CD disciplines and provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems
    • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
    • Establish integration between tools with existing APIs or create services as needed to fulfill integration requirements between tools

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
    • First-hand experience and understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) disciplines
    • Experience working in an enterprise SDLC automated and integrated environment. Encompassing Build, Release and Deploy, Source Code Library control and artifact retention
    • Experience with major nix type environments (AIX, Linux, Solaris) and Windows environments

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2+ years of experience in enterprise application development, builds, and source code management and/or 2+ years of experience using/supporting Build Servers such as Jenkins, Teamcity, Bamboo, or similar CI server
    • Experience establishing or promoting DevOps, CI/CD or Agile source/build/deploy best practices
    • Experience with container runtime systems like Kubernetes
    • Experience building pipelines for cloud-native applications
    • Experience scripting and automating application builds using various languages and tools such as Maven, MSBuild, Ant, or similar
    • Experience working with automated deployments in a complex enterprise environment
    • Experience with containers and the best practices for building container images
