Provides support to novice and advanced beginner nurses and preceptors to assure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members. Participates in the designs, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians, verifies and documents learning progress, and supports evaluation and communication with nurse leaders and preceptors on development of required competencies Supports the creation of a learning environment for Inova nursing staff. Engages actively in self-development to develop expertise in training, coaching, and mentoring staff the department leading to the promotion of high-quality nursing care delivery. * Preferred to have Adult Medical Surgical and/or Oncology RN experience.* Requirements Preferred to have Operating Room RN experience. * Three years progressive experience in clinical nursing in designated specialty. * Experience serving as preceptor. * BSN degree required. * General nursing skill sets. Ability to work in various clinical settings. * BLS for healthcare provider required. Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. * Proficient computer skills required.
