We are looking for a part-time Ultrasonographer to do OB/GYN and fertility scans for our clients during their clinical visits. Hours - Monday -Friday - morning hours Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clinical/Technical * Perform ultrasounds in accordance with protocols established by the physicians of the practice * Maintain production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures; observing results; make necessary adjustments * Consistently and accurately complete forms and documentation pertinent to the ultrasound examination entries in patient charts * Send/discuss scan results with treating practice physician(s) * Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and calling for assistance from other health care support personnel when appropriate * Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, and storage procedures * Insure proper operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance require4ments; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques * Maintain related supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies * File and retrieve patient charts as necessary * Prepare detailed charts for new ultrasound patients * Maintain a separate file of ultrasound finding for department use * Cooperate with office administration by assisting with patient services and other front desk responsibilities as needed Patient Interaction * Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and persons in a position to understand care requirements * Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of procedure; answer questions * Prepare patient for ultrasound by positioning patient; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors, properly draping patient * Assist the physician to resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies * Comfort patient during times of physical and emotional stress * Assists patient services to prioritize patient appointments, and handle emergency visits Skills/Requirements · Current ARDMS registration or registry eligible · Two year allied health background in an AMA approved program and/or associate degree · Minimum 2 years experience in diagnostic ultrasound in womens health · Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer · Ability to communicate accurately and concisely · Ability to remain calm under stress · Excellent interpersonal skills
