This position offers the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) an opportunity to work with a variety of diagnosis and cases and a diverse patient population. The SLP works individually with the child and their families. Childrens rehabilitation services are offered at several Intermountain Healthcare sites throughout Utah. This Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) works primarily at the new Pediatric Clinic at The Orthopedic Specialist Hospital in Murray Utah. However as part of Primary Children's outpatient team; they may be asked to provide coverage in Taylorsville, Riverton, Layton or Bountiful on occasion. Our team includes specialists licensed in audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation medicine and speech therapy. All sites offer diagnostic testing and treatment for children. We serve children ages 021 with injuries and illness, physical challenges, speech, language and cognitive delays, development delays, hearing loss, and other conditions that affect the daily activities most children enjoy. Each therapy program is planned to meet the unique needs of each child. We rely on the child and their primary caregiver to prioritize the plan of care and we require a parent or primary caregiver to take part in the therapy program. Teaching skills to use at home and in the community to parents is as important as the skills and practice the child receives in therapy. All locations share a treatment philosophy, expertise and a commitment to superior service. Clinical services are provided using evidence based care. Our practitioners continually search for the best treatment options and technologies that have demonstrated effectiveness in caring for children and we consistently apply these best practices. Our goal is safer practice, better outcomes, lowest cost all leading to healthier and better quality of life. The Speech Language Pathologist performs a vital role providing patient services of identifying, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing impairments. The Speech Pathologist is critical in establishing and implementing therapy programs for patients and is essential in the healing process to enhance and increase communication skills and prevent regression of these skills. The Speech Therapist is held in high esteem for the indirect services of consulting, advising and training the patient and the appropriate caregivers. Posting Specifics -Entry Rate: $32.30 -Benefits Eligible: Yes -Shift Details: Full Time, exempt. This SLP will work approximately 40 hours per week, no weekends required. -Department: Primary Children's Rehabilitation, located at TOSH in Murray, Utah Minimum Requirements -Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program (degree will be verified). -Current state Speech Pathologist license. -Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. -Basic computer skills (word processing and email). Physical Requirements -Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking. Preferred Requirements -Pediatric feeding experience highly preferred. -Current certificate of clinical competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). -One year experience in a pediatric environment -One year experience in a pediatric outpatient environment highly preferred Please Note All positions subject to close without notice.
