    Through this internship, candidates will develop:

    • A broad understanding of UnitedHealth Group, our industry, and general business acumen
    • Communication, project management, negotiating, critical analysis, and leadership skills
    • A proficiency in risk assessment and audit principles, skills and techniques

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Working in a team environment on a variety of projects that will provide senior management with information to help them better manage business risks
    • Working with management to understand and document business processes, including the related risks and established controls
    • Assessing management’s processes and the adequacy of the related controls
    • Testing the operational effectiveness of controls
    • Testing detailed transactions for consistency with internal policies, regulations, and general appropriateness
    • Providing recommendations to management to enhance controls and working with management to agree upon and monitor action to be taken

  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or IT from an accredited college/university. Junior class level preferred.
    • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college/university during the duration of the internship. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors.
    • Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
    • Ability to travel – 10-20% travel possible, but not guaranteed, during internship
    • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
