    ADA Accommodation Specialist - Employee Health Services - Full Time -

    8 Hour - Days Responsible for coordinating and managing the process for providing accommodations and support services for John Muir Health (JMH) employees with disabilities. Ensures that reasonable accommodations and services are in place and coordinates compliance with regards to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California employment and privacy laws surrounding employees with disabilities. Works closely with Human Resources and Legal Services. **Operational ** 1. Provides case management for requests for reasonable employment accommodations under the ADA, coordinates return to work modified duty for employees on non-industrial leaves, and completes work restriction agreements for employees. 2. Initiates and thereafter facilitates the interactive process with employees and supervisors. Provides consultation on the interactive process, barrier removal, and physical accessibility issues. Follows-up with healthcare providers regarding medical releases and documentation as necessary. 3. Collaborates with Human Resources, managers and supervisors, and establishes and maintains effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. 4. Responds to accessibility issues including but not limited to website accessibility, event/activity accessibility, presentation/materials accessibility, and physical and programmatic accessibility. 5. Coordinates activities and communication with and/or between the occupational medicine clinic, hiring departments, supervisors, employees, healthcare providers, Ergonomic Specialist, Workers Compensation Specialists, Occupational Health Coordinator, Human Resources, and Legal Services. Administrative 1. Maintains current information and assures that all JMH entities comply with the ADA and other applicable federal and state laws regarding the protection of employees with disabilities. 2. Documents and maintains up-to-date case records and notes of appropriate and accurate information on the computer and in the hard file. Institutes a process to ensure that accommodation requests are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, as appropriate. 3. Develops and delivers ADA training and keeps ADA related policies and procedures current. * Bachelors degree in psychology, education, rehabilitation counseling, human services, or related field preferred. * Minimum of three years experience in developing and managing employer based compliance and accommodation programs mandated by federal and state laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). * Knowledge of the interplay between the FMLA, STD, workers compensation and the ADA. * Current California Drivers License and insurance required. * Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to analyze situations and make decisions on procedural and detail matters without immediate supervision. * Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with healthcare providers. 8. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). John Muir Health is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit health care organization.
