You will report to the Director of Real World Data (RWD) Engineering and Solutions, part of the Janssen R&D Data Science, Data Platform & Privacy team. The primary location for this position is Titusville, NJ but considerations will be given for alternate locations in Raritan, New Jersey & Spring House, Pennsylvania Janssen develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. • Analyze, profile and build cohorts against real world data sources (e.g. electronic health records, insurance claims, health survey data) to better understand disease representation, drug exposure and lab measurements.
• Assess cohort feasibility amongst a variety of data sources to better understand research opportunities within both discovery and development.
• Capable of leading team and extracting data based on inclusion / exclusion criteria to enable the organization to more easily share and execute analyses against real world data.
• Contribute to a roadmap focused on web-based applications for enabling the R&D Data Science organization to better understand data fit-for-use.
• Identify potential data quality issues and collaborate cross-functionally to understand impact and define a resolution.
• Contribute to the transformation of data into various data models for platform ingestion and research-enablement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree - Bioengineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Public Health, Epidemiology and/or a related subject area. Masters degree preferred.
• Experience working with real world data (EHR, Medical Claims, Health Survey, Registry)
• Experience working with and executing scripts against large databases such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with SQL, R, Python and/or another programming languages.
• Ability to translate discussions into actionable user requirements and project plans.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

PREFERRED:

• Knowledge of medical terminologies (e.g. ICD, NDC, SNOMED, MedDRA, LOINC, CPT)
• Working knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, OMOP, SDTM and/or ADaM.
• Experience leading the design, build and implementation web-based applications, enabling the visualization and better understanding of data.
• Experience with RShiny, Flask and HTML
