    Robotics & Digital Solutions, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager, Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) for Ethicon soft tissue robotics, to be based in Santa Clara, CA. Robotics and Digital Solutions, is part of Johnson & Johnson Med Tech. At Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions, we're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve patients' diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times. Johnson & Johnson Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon. It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH®), Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA™), and Digital Solutions. Join our collaborative, rapidly growing teams in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City and Santa Clara), Cincinnati, and Seattle. You'll collaborate on breakthrough medical technologies that unite multiple subject areas to build a connected digital ecosystem that advances medical professionals' skills and improves patient outcomes. As the Senior Marketing Manager, this individual will be an integral member of the Robotics & Digital Solutions GSM team, reporting to the Director, GSM. In this role, this individual will lead the execution of multiple, funded and/or pre-charter projects, through all phases of the new product development stage-gates and launch excellence including market research, building the business case, representing the voice of customer, managing regional and external relationships, working with R&D and cross-functional partners to lead achievement of milestones, and recommending go / no-go decisions at key milestones. A successful Senior Marketing Manager in this role is motivated, collaborative, innovative in thought, eager to understand and represent the customer mindset, driven to help create an innovative and differentiated product, and enthusiastic to make a difference and improve patient care. YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Co-lead (with cross functional project leadership) new product development projects to execute on the pipeline strategy for the OTTAVA Robotic System
    • Lead the definition of the product including what it does and the intended target as well as the target product profile with evidence generation strategy
    • Lead all related Strategic Marketing and Launch Excellence activities to support marketing and commercial strategies of robotic system projects through all launch phases
    • Lead VoC and customer (clinical and non-clinical stakeholders) validation efforts and leverage data to inform development to ensure robotic system features and functionality meet and/or exceed customer expectations and support the value proposition
    • Lead the execution of strategic research and VoC to further refine segmentation, targeting and positioning for the robotic system category with dissemination across organizations and regions
    • Lead competitive and market assessments for related robotic system categories and portfolio working closely with the competitive and strategic insights teams while staying abreast of broader competitive and market trends
    • Support and collaborate on key user experience elements across various projects in the robotic portfolio and broader ecosystem and ensure relevant learnings are connected back to development of the OTTAVA Robotic System
    • Collaborate as needed with Front End Team and associated cross functional partners (R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Human Factors, Pre-clinical, Clinical, and Medical (PCM), Business Development, etc.) to support continued innovation cadence
    • Own and drive strong connection of strategic research and VoC to communication leads across Ethicon as well as the broader JJMDC Robotics and Digital Solutions
    • Support and execute marketing and commercial launch related activities across the robotic portfolio and broader ecosystem

    EDUCATION:

    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 8 years of Marketing and / or sales experience in medical devices, or healthcare tech
    • Experience in both upstream / front-end and downstream / brand / customer-facing roles in region
    • A minimum of 2 years working in a development environment defining aspects of a market, product solution and / or target user including the ability to understand and define customer needs and feedback and articulate to other stakeholders, including the engineering and marketing organizations
    • Medical technology or devices industry knowledge background
    • Outstanding analytics skills and ability to understand technically complex concepts and translate and simplify problems of considerable scope and complexity into manageable tasks with measurable requirements
    • Ability to exercise judgment and appropriate risk taking
    • Ability to develop and manage and nurture customer relationships

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Track record of successfully launching complex medical devices
    • Experience in medical robotics marketing or sales
    • Commercially savvy with knowledge of and collaboration with cross-functional processes and partners in R&D, Quality, Supply Chain

    OTHER:

    • This position will be based in Santa Clara, CA and may require up to 35% travel, including domestic and international.
