  • Responsibilities

    An instructor in the Department of Business & Information Systems will be assigned to teach a full range of lower-division courses within the Business & Information Systems Department. The successful candidate will primarily teach introduction to financial and managerial accounting courses (both online and face-to-face). The successful candidate may teach other departmental courses including business communication or introduction to business.

    Timeline: Position begins in Fall 2024. For best consideration, applicants should submit materials by April 22, 2024.


    Location: Twin Falls campus (possible weekend and evening teaching assignments, including at CSI outreach centers); Not a Remote position


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Teach a minimum semester credit load (15-16 hours) of courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the CSI catalog.

    · Devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to the institution, maintain appropriate office hours as determined by college policy, and bring to the attention of the immediate supervisor any conditions which might affect employment.

    · Devise and utilize outcomes assessment measures.

    · Participate fully in all departmental, program-level, and college-level assessment activities.

    · Meet all scheduled classes promptly with any deviation being filed promptly and accurately through the appropriate channels.

    · Provide current copies of course syllabi to chairperson each semester.

    · Monitor student placement in courses and student progress; maintain accurate records.

    · Interact with and advise students.

    · Participate in faculty development to improve professional effectiveness.

    · Participate in instructional evaluation processes.

    · Attend department meetings and committee meetings as appropriate.

    · Recommend textbook adoptions in collaboration with other faculty in the department.

    · Promote and help with learning assistance services.

    · Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

    · Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Business or Accounting; a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting with a CPA designation; or a closely related field.

    · Applicants who claim equivalent qualifications shall provide conclusive evidence that they possess qualifications that are at least equivalent to those required by the minimum qualifications of the area for which they are applying. It is the responsibility of the applicant to supply all evidence and documentation for the claim of equivalency at the time of application.


    Desired Skills and Abilities:

    · Coursework and/or experience in teaching business classes, particularly accounting.

    · Have work experience in the business field, specifically in accounting.

    · Experience with a variety of teaching strategies including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning, online instruction, and teaching with technology.

    · Impart excitement and enthusiasm into teaching business classes at all levels.

    · Experience with outcomes assessment.

    · Communicate effectively in oral and written English in the classroom and with other professionals.

    · Demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students.

    · Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development through membership in state, regional and national organizations.

    · Develop and maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with students, members of the department, administration, and staff.

    · Have experience integrating technology in instruction and implementing distance learning strategies, including online courses.

    · Interact well with college students.

    · Have experience advising students.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

    · Use of computers in multi-media classroom environments located throughout the campus.

    · Comfortable in online educational environments and with online educational technology

  • Qualifications

    Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5+ years direct work experience in project management capacity and/or people management
    • 5+ years medical device industry experience
    • 5+ years technical experience in one or more areas of development of sterile single use medical devices and/or electro-mechanical systems and/or software development
    • Working knowledge and experience with quality systems regulations and guidelines, Medical Device Directive (MDD), Medical Device Regulations (MDR), General Safety and Performance requirements (GSPR), Design Controls, Design input and output verification and validation (IOVV), FDA
    • Experience with project management tools
    • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively transfer ideas, concepts and information
    • Ability to work with various internal and external customers in a professional manner
    • Proven experience to work cross-functionally across an organization
    • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

    ****Preferred:

    • Certification in project management or equivalent
    • Previous experience leading software development teams

    Other:

    • 15% travel time may be required
