JOB SUMMARY Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of records and records retention; performs intermediate tasks in defined skill areas/applications by continuously building on current job knowledge; maintain effective relationships with peers, vendors, and others in a diverse environment; support team decisions and follow through with team responsibilities; interpret information, ideas and instructions and communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing including materials intended for distribution; determine causes of unusual occurrences and apply standard principles and practices to determine and implement solutions; ensure safe practices and environmental consciousness are exhibited in decisions; typically work under general supervision, while performing assignments that are varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involve limited responsibility. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (A = basics; B = preferred) Education A. High School Diploma or GED. B. Associates or bachelors Degree in information management, records management, or related field preferred. Experience A. Three (3) years minimum experience in records management. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of principles, practices and methods of records management, which include identification, storage, circulation and disposal of records; tools and technologies used to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver information manually or electronically; and the ability to review and analyze records to determine appropriate storage, retention and disposal requirements; and identify and resolve problems and issues related to the management of records B. Licenses A. B. Special Skills A. Ability to handle the storage and retrieval of information in an accurate, consistent and thorough manner; ability to plan and complete projects under general direction. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others; ability to lift and carry boxes of records weighing up to 15 pounds B. Other A. B.
