Paramedic Job Details Facility: CHI Memorial Location: Chattanooga, TN Department: Emergency Medical Services Job Type: Full Time Shift: 12 Hour Variable Important Notice: Nicotine is part of our pre-employment drug screen. **** Job Summary * The EMT-P (Paramedic) is responsible for delivery of patient care under the guidelines of the Tennessee Department of Public Health Emergency Medical Services (TDHPH-EMS) and the guidance of an assigned Medical Director. The EMT-P will deliver care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the Physician or appropriate staff. Essential Duties * The Paramedic must be able to perform a variety of tasks assisting patients in specified pre-approved procedures. Must demonstrate technical, clerical and interpersonal skills. Must have strong organizational skills to effectively handle a heavy workload and maintain efficiency in the work environment, often under stressful work conditions. Maintaining a cool and calm demeanor, being flexible and adaptable to quick change in patient load. Must have a thorough understanding of patient care, and ability to provide quality customer service, and maintain a good working knowledge of pre hospital procedures. Requirements ** ** Education * High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of paramedics/sciences. ** ** Experience * One year field experience preferred. Licensure or Certification ** ** ** ** 1. Currently licensed in Tennessee or eligible for licensure by endorsement (reciprocity from other states or National Registry). Must be able to be licensed in both TN and GA within 4 months of hire. 2. ACLS and BCLS required. 3. PALS/PEPP/EPC (one of the three) within 6 months of hire 4. ITLS or PHTLS within 6 months of hire 5. EVOC / CEVO or equivalent preferred 6. EMS Dept. specific job education within first 6 months of employment. 7. Current driver's license with excellent driving record. If driver's license is in TN, the " F" endorsement is required. Equipment/Skills * Ambulance, radio, on-board equipment, general patient care equipment, IV pumps, ventilators, computer skills.
