    Security Guard - On Call Security Service/Skilled Workers Kingman, AZ Description Position Purpose: All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHIs vision of providing the regions best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance. Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position] Demonstrates advanced customer relations skills with patients, visitors, medical staff, employees, peers and administration. Conducts physical security and safety surveys. Prepares daily activity reports and forms including security inventory and equipment condition. Investigates and prepares reports relating to losses, incidents, occurrences, lost and found and violations of Kingman Regional Medical Center regulations, policies and procedures. Responds to internal emergencies such as fires, disasters and other hospital emergencies. Enforces and utilizes knowledge of established policies, procedures and practices. Serves as a liaison with local law enforcement, fire and other agencies as it relates to Kingman Regional Medical Center Security team and or hospital personnel. Identifies and resolves security / safety related problems. Provides security / safety in-services to staff and others as assigned. Complies with federal, state and local regulations and exercises good judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned. Participates in peer interviews for new hires of security team. Provides support to the Plant Operations department to ensure the safety and comfort of patients. Operates plant utilities in the absences of Plant Operations staff and is aware of all utilities emergency procedures. Performs other duties, assignments, activities and responsibilities as assigned. Ability to obtain an Arizona security officer Card. Computer skills. Ability to operate the surveillance system. Supports hospital and department standards and goals. Ability to work varied assigned shifts. Ability to work with and deescalate adverse and confrontational situations. 5449 (Init:08/17ms) (Please refer to electronic document management system for the most current revision) Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multilingual, masters degree)] EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in security related fields. Hospital security experience preferred. Those certified through the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety as a Certified Healthcare Security Officer will receive an additional 2.5% pay increase. LICENSURE: Possession of a valid Arizona motor vehicle license and willingness to operate motor vehicles in the course of employment. Arizona security officer card preferred. DRIVING DUTIES: May require travel to Hualapai Mountain Campus, SHMP Building, Mountain Shadow Building, or other KHI properties: Transporting meals Responding to alarms Courier duties Other driving duties as assigned Special Position Requirements [Optional section: any travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which to the position] Blood borne diseases exposure category: Category II Other potential hazards: Asbestos, Formaldehyde, Ethylene oxide, Mercury, Violence. Other potential hazards: exposure to chemical, biological, and radioactive substances; possible exposure to hostile individuals. Work Requirements [Optional section: work requirements for physical or other important issues which relate to the job] 30 to 40% of the time is standing and walking. Must be able to distinguish phone rings and callers voices against regular background noise and conversation. Occasionally bends, stoops, kneels, climbs and descends ramps, stairs, ladders and reaches in the daily functions of duties. Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit 60 to 70% of the time. Must be able to walk, run and stand. Pass a physical fitness screening.
